I am Alessandro — Always learning to see the world with my camera.

I am Alessandro Tonella, an Italian street and documentary photographer based in Milan. From the simple point-and-shoot I received as a child, I have always had a camera in my hands, following me everywhere I have travelled.

It was only in 2025 that I understood what I truly wanted from photography: to tell the world as I see it, with the same wonder I feel whether I am walking the streets of my own city or somewhere else in the world.

What I look for is the encounter. People and their stories, rituals, communities, faces that most people walk straight past — that is where photography becomes something necessary for me.

Along this path, workshops and mentors have shaped the way I see and photograph — and I am still walking it, camera in hand, curious eyes open to whatever the city offers next.
